Asougi in Japanese characters.

Asougi (阿僧祇 in Japanese, Sanskrit for "uncountably large number") is \(10^{56}\)[1] in Japanese counting system. The word is in Buddhism's sutra, and it was adopted in Chinese counting system and in Japanese counting system. It is read as Asankhyeya in Sanskrit or Chinese, and it is read as Asougi in Japanese. It means different numbers in different Buddism's sutra, and it means different numbers in different Chinese counting system[2]. In Japan, there was different meaning of numbers for Asougi, but now it is unified and it means \(10^{56}\).

In English, it is one hundred septendecillion in short scale or one hundred nonillion in long scale.
